When the world is heavy, there is nothing better than a little ride. My favorite types of rides involve some kind of errand. Today’s was to some local trails to checkout their condition for my sister. She is getting ready for a half-marathon trail run and needs to keep up with her miles when she is in town. With all the rain we have been getting, there is some wonder if they are too wet. Good news for all of us, they were in great condition except for a few low spots.
Today’s ride reminded me to take time to smell the roses. When we go on a ride, life slows down a bit and you are able to take in your surroundings. It is so nice to notice the little things. Today I passed a stopped train that had some pretty cool graffiti. My son works for the railroad and my other son’s girlfriend works hiring for the railroad. Supposedly, as long as the numbers and pertinent information are not covered up, it is ok. Not sure if that is really the case or not. I do love the art and the interesting shapes and colors. I always wonder what the artist was thinking, and what their goals are for their work.
